To celebrate Mother’s Day this month, we interviewed three generations of KSC shoppers:

Abbie, her daughter Renette, and Renette’s daughter Lauren , who have been shopping at KSC for a combined 80 years.

ABBIE (also known as Popo)

Originally from Kaneohe, Abbie has been coming to KSC for more than 50 years! She has participated in many spin events over the years and in 2019 was the HOLIDAY SPIN GRAND PRIZE WINNER! .

“At 95 years young, I enjoy gardening, doing word search puzzles from Longs Drugs and having the delicious miso butterfish from TEISHOKU Restaurant” , says Abbie.

Abbie shops KSC for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and looks forward to future SPIN events during the holidays for a chance to win!

RENETTE (also known as Mom)

Renette won a $100 gift certificate from LIU’S CHOY SUEY at the KSC “12 Days of Christmas” in 2020 and spent it all on Mr. Liu’s specialty, the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops!

One of her favorite stores to shop is CVS Longs Drug, where Managers Cory and Keith treat her as a VIP with their excellent customer service.

Renette says “We also enjoy the roast pork and cold ginger chicken from the Dim Sum Shop inside of TIMES SUPERMARKET. Jay is always so helpful!”

LAUREN (also known as Aunty to her nieces and nephews)

Lauren, who grew up in Hawaii, now lives in Seattle, but when she visits home, Renette always shares KSC SPIN TICKETS with her. And when she returns to the mainland, her mother always sends her care packages filled with items from KSC stores. 

“My mother and I are shopping buddies and it’s a treat for us to stop in at Baskin Robbins and get my favorite flavor, Cherrie Jubilee!”
